Descendants of Jacob Bowers
of Germany, Pennsylvania and Virginia
for Five Generations
Three Bauhers, or Bowers brothers came from the Black Forests of Germany to Pennsylvania then to Virginia. One of the brothers was Jacob. This is part of his story:
Jacob Bowers, born before 1800, married Susan (Sarah) Andes in Rockingham County, Virginia on 24 October 1815. She was a low, rather heavy-set woman from Rockingham County.

II. George, born 1821, married Lydia Wean in 1846.

III. William A., born 1852, married Harriet Virginia (Jenny) Helsley in 1875.

Frank Earl, born 1883, married Bessie Bell Sharp in 1908. They had children:

Doren William, born 1909, in Liberty, Nebraska married Mabel Irene Warfield in 1933. They had a son, Edward.
In 1928 a reunion was held at the old homestead where Waldo Bowers resided. I am not sure where this was. If anyone knows of this event and has more info I would like to know.
