Alaskan law permits adoptees age 18 or older access to original birth certificates upon request, along with any change of name or address on file.

Birth parents may receive identifying information on an adoptee age 18 or older, if there is a request on file for such disclosure by an adoptee.

Adoptive parents and adult adoptees may receive the following non-identifying information: age of parent at surrender, heritage (national origin, ethnic background, tribal membership), medical information, number of years of school completed, physical description, existence of siblings, whether birth parent was alive at the time of adoption, religion, and information provided by the birth parent for the adoptee, such as photographs, letters and statement explaining the reasons for the adoption.
