Adoption records are closed in the State of Florida, and may be opened only upon order of the court.
The Florida Office of Vital Statistics permits adult adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents, biological siblings, and biological grandparents to register information identifying those individuals with whom such information can be shared.
Counseling on a fee for service basis is available to any registrant. For registry information contact: Florida Adoption Registry, Vital Statistics Registry, P. O. Box. 2197, Jacksonville, Florida 32232. Telephone: (904) 488-8000.
