In South Carolina, there is a mutual consent registry for adult adoptees (age 21), birth parent(s), and biological siblings of adoptees. Counseling must be provided by an adoption agency prior to the release of identifying information.

Adoptees & BirthParents in Search (ABIS) is a non-profit group that offers emotional support as well as search tips and other resources for individuals touched by adoption. Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month (Sept-May) at 7pm.
